Getting To Know Your Business

Do you have a shop front? Where are you based?

Little Squigglers currently runs classes at the Millennium Jubilee Hall, Kesgrave on a Wednesday and Copdock and Washbrook Village Hall on a Friday.

Tell me a bit about your business, what makes it special?

Little Squigglers messy play and creative classes provide a fun way for your under 5 to grow in confidence and develop new skills. Our pre-school classes provide a perfect opportunity for children to experience sensory activities you may not want to embark on at home.

Each week in Little Squigglers Toddler classes, children (and parents) have fun being immersed in activities based around familiar themes whilst learning new skills in a safe and secure environment. Messy play for babies or toddlers is not only great fun but is a perfect way for your child to learn new skills through sensory play and sensory learning, as well as learning to share, make new friends, develop greater confidence and independence, and increase language and communication skills.

How long have you been in business?

Little Squigglers Ipswich and East Suffolk has just had it’s first birthday! Hooray!

What is your favourite part of being your own boss?

I love being able to fit my work around my family (as best as I can). I wasn’t able to do this in my previous job and this is hugely important to us.

Do you offer products or services? Please give information about these products / services.

We do so many different things at Little Squigglers, which is part of the reason I love it so much!

Messy play and craft classes – these run during the week for 0-4 year olds. We have a different theme each week, which the messy play and craft stations are based around. There is a snack and story each week and everyone takes their wonderful works of art home with them at the end! These also run in the holidays as well! In the summer, we go outside for extra messy messy play!

Holiday art workshops – For children aged 5-12 years, these are independent sessions where the parents leave the children to create some masterpieces to take home. They last for 3 hours and have a different theme each time!

Birthday parties – Messy play and craft, craft only or messy play only. The choice is yours! Our birthday parties can be any theme you like and are so much fun. The children get messy and create some treasures to take home as a lovely reminder of the party. Recent themes have been Moana, Thomas the Tank, Disney princesses, Superheroes and Peter Rabbit! And I do all the clearing up!

What is your favourite product or service you offer?

That’s a hard one! I love them all! If pushed, I would say the birthday parties. I love creating the perfect party for the special birthday child and seeing all the happy faces enjoying themselves.

If I want to hire you for your services, how can I do this/find you? I can be contacted by email, phone or via our online booking portal. Details below!

Time to get a bit personal…

What kind of family commitments do you need to juggle along with your business? How do you find balance?

I have two boys. A 5 year old, who started school in September and a 2 year old, who for the first time is getting some peace and quiet now he has the house to himself! I do my best to juggle everything, but anyone who has young children knows there are no hard and fast rules to making it work – I am totally winging it. It’s the only way.. (isn’t it??)

What are your favourite tv shows, foods, or songs?

I watch anything about food! Masterchef, the Bake Off – all of them. Love them!

What can you be found doing when you have time off?

Running around after my very active boys! I’m always 2 steps behind, but I try my best to keep up!

What is your favourite place to get away to? And why?

We love going anywhere, but we particularly like somewhere like Center Parcs. The children love being out on the bikes and swimming in the pool. Anything to try and get them tired!

And last but not least! Snog, Marry, Avoid: Mr Tumble, Mr Bloom, Mr Maker!!

Snog Mr Bloom, marry Mr Maker (he loves craft after all!) and avoid Mr Tumble… (kids love him.. me not so much..)
