Getting To Know Your Business

Do you have a shop front? Where are you based?

On the outside its Culford Village Hall… But come inside and it could be the jungle, the middle of the sea, Father Christmas’ toy shop or we could be heading towards a black hole in space!!!

Tell me a bit about your business, what makes it special?

Awe & Wonder has bonding at its core. Then play and then surrounding those values are welcoming, baby led and supportive baby massage and sensory play classes.

As an Early Years Specialist and a mummy myself I understand baby development and how we can support that at home with the simplest of things but making it so much fun. With my training about Enabling Environments I have a created a beautiful space filled with beautiful and natural objects to fill your baby with curiosity and awe.

How long have you been in business?

I used to run Little Express Sensory classes (2 years) but after becoming a Certified Infant Massage teacher with the IAIM I created my own business Awe & Wonder which encompasses both classes.

What is your favourite part of being your own boss?

As the most passionate Early Years leader and teacher before having my son, I never gave myself a work life balance. To be an outstanding teacher and be at the top with OFSTED you just can’t so I love how I can be my own boss, manage my time more effectively without the paper pushing and get back to creativity and engaging with babies and parents.

Do you offer products or services? Please give information about these products / services.

On a Monday (four classes) we enjoy sensory play together through a new theme. We get messy, visit themes using new textures and sounds and providing your baby with the very best first hand experiences for them to learn with. It’s such a delight and it fills mums and dad’s with so much confidence and excitement for play with even the youngest of babies. For babies from 8-12 weeks to walking.

Tuesdays I have two baby massage classes. These classes are 90 minutes long and provide space and time for mummies to engage wand expire the hot mummy topics of having a baby. It’s a healing space and full of love as you learn the massage strokes to soothe your baby’s colic, constipation, stresses of the day and aid sleep. You feel more bonded with your baby as you learn the subtle cues of engagement or disengagement and better under stand your baby’s cues. Cake and refreshments are involved to! For babies from newborn until aged one.

What is your favourite product or service you offer?

I am full of happiness at the end of Mondays and Tuesdays because I am so lucky to observe you both grow and develop together over a period of time. Many of my parents join me at 8 weeks and start with me until their baby is walking. It’s so special to watch.

If I want to hire you for your services, how can I do this/find you?

My website is, you’ll see my Facebook and Instagram link on my webpage so you can begin to see what we get up to. My booking page is also there so you can book your place for next term on massage or sensory play.

As spaces for sensory play are so sought after it is best to book onto massage to ensure you have first pick of sensory play for the following term.

Time to get a bit personal….

What kind of family commitments do you need to juggle along with your business? How do you find balance?

I’ve had to work really hard at the work life balance thing but that’s why I left teaching, we have a weekly rhythm which keeps evolving but keeps my sanity. It helps Oliver know what the days involves to…. Forest School Day, Playdate Day or our singing class day. I end up doing a lot of work in the evening but I am getting better at that now!

What are your favourite tv shows, foods, or songs?

My guilty pleasure is Made in Chelsea and with my hubby I enjoy watching Gotham, Walking Dead or the X Files!

Not a fussy eater… Cake and coffee is the perfect treat

What can you be found doing when you have time off?

With my bestie (my 3 year old son) Oliver playing in the dirt, finding snails or worms at forest school or our allotment. We also have a family caravan so we can live the simple life and get away from the pressures of everyday life.

I enjoy restorative yoga too as well as my Tropic Ambassador role which gets me out at my friend’s homes pampering then and helping them find their confidence and love of self care.

What is your favourite place to get away to? And why?

A beach, I’ve always be drawn to the coast so now we have our caravan we can get away into nature much more and experience life through real life experiences.

And last but not least! Snog, Marry, Avoid: Mr Tumble, Mr Bloom, Mr Maker!!

Oh no! I’m really sorry but as we don’t have screen time (a part from a few DVDs like singing rhymes and Brum) I don’t know who Mr Bloom or Mr Maker
