Getting To Know Your Business

Do you have a shop front? Where are you based?

I am based wherever you need me to be, I come to your home to teach you The Wise Hippo Birthing Programme as I find that my couples relax more in the comfort of their own homes allowing them to fully take in everything I am taking them through.

Tell me a bit about your business, what makes it special?

Inner Calm Birth is almost 5 years old now, in that time I have lived and breathed all things birth. I can now offer classes for all types of birth so you can be ready for all outcomes. I offer a hypnobirthing class for caesareans and VBAC (Vaginal birth after Caesarean) ladies as well as the normal birthing programme.

How long have you been in business?

Inner Calm Birth is almost 5, it seems crazy that it is that long as that the seems to have flown by. They do say that time flies when you are having fun and I can definitely vouch for that.

What is your favourite part of being your own boss?

My favourite part of being my own boss is knowing that all the hard work I do benefits my business, I also love being able to pick my own hours and being able to make it to my little ones school plays etc.

Do you offer products or services? Please give information about these products / services.

I have a few different strings to my bow. The main thing I offer is The Wise Hippo Birthing Programme. Which is a hypnobirthing programme to get pregnant couples ready for birth. Under the Wise Hippo Programme I can also support Caesarean births, Vaginal Birth after caesareans, Twin births, Inductions, Breech births and more!!!

I am also trained in the 3 step rewind programme that is to help parents through the after effects of birth trauma. This isn’t a service just for mums as the dads also need it just as much!

What is your favourite product or service you offer?

Ooooh this is a tricky one as I love helping couples in the run up to and during their births but I also have a huge passion for supporting couples who have previously had a traumatic birth.

Actually the best thing that happens, is when I receive that amazing email from my couples telling me that they did it, that they gave birth and they felt empowered and confident and calm. I always squeal at my laptop when I get those emails and it makes all the driving around Suffolk late at night to and from my couples houses worth it!

If I want to hire you for your services, how can I do this/find you?

OK, as I have children the best way to get in contact is through email. If you attempt to call me it is highly likely you will hear my 4 year old asking on repeat if its Nanna on the phone and if he can speak to you.

You can also come and check me out online and on Facebook.

Time to get a bit personal…

What kind of family commitments do you need to juggle along with your business? How do you find balance?

I have a husband who works overseas a large amount of the year, because of this I do tend to have to juggle things around a lot. It usually works out well though as he tends to be around when my clients are around which means I can tootle off to their for theirs next session whilst he has the kids.

What are your favourite tv shows, foods, or songs?

I am a huge fan of Orange is the new black, Suits and I am currently shouting at my TV whilst watching Making a murderer.

Food wise I love takeaways, when I am juggling so many things to be able to take a night off of cooking is always a huge treat for me.

Mr Brightside by the killers is my top tune, that song never fails to put a smile on my face. It seems to follow me around and knows when I need a pick me up as it’ll appear on the radio just when I need it.

What can you be found doing when you have time off?

Time off?? Whats that?? 😉

When I get some downtime I can usually be found on my sofa with a cup of tea and some biscuits or I can be found chilling at a spa but this a lot rarer than me being found on the sofa.

What is your favourite place to get away to? And why?

Having been bought up in Devon I love to get away to anywhere near the coast. Theres something amazing about the sound of the sea and its ability to instantly take away any stress that I am holding onto at that moment.

And last but not least! Snog, Marry, Avoid: Mr Tumble, Mr Bloom, Mr Maker!!

I absolutely love Justin Fletcher and have a huge amount of respect for him and his 5 million different characters but I definitely wouldn’t want to snog or marry Mr Tumble so unfortunately I would avoid Mr Tumble, snog Mr Maker and Marry Mr Bloom.
