Kimberley Goldsmith

Little Explorers Sensory

Bury St Edmunds

Fancy each week having a new exciting adventure with your baby…will you be joining a swashbuckling adventure with pirates?Or zooming into space with Spaceman Sid?! Visiting the Circus or having a rumble in the jungle?!

I’m Kimberley and I am so proud of my sensory play classes! At Little Explorers Sensory we are all about providing your baby with a wealth of exciting sensory experiences to encourage their development and I certainly work hard to ensure your baby has the very best of what sensory play offers! As an Early Years/Primary teacher and mummy of toddler Oliver, I understand how beneficial it is for babies to have access to high quality play for all seven of their senses and the science that tells us sensory play literally ‘builds’ brains! As we journey through each theme we might use instruments, messy play, play silks, puppets, textures, treasure baskets, balloons, the parachute, fiber optics, and beautiful wooden toys. Afterwards you can enjoy 1-1 playtime with your baby and friendly chit-chat with other parents as you explore the seven sensory zones, finishing with beautiful bubbles!

Not only do you receive your term of classes but we have also created an ‘Explore Together’ Package! You receive a sensory play guide FULL of wonderful ideas for setting up play at home, an online personal photo album FULL of videos and photos I take of you and your baby during each class and fortnightly supportive emails. Thank you and I do hope you will be joining us on our adventures very soon!

”Little Explorers is so much fun! We started a few weeks ago when Luca was just over three months old. The classes are really carefully thought out and each week has a different theme – so far we have helped Old McDonald with his harvest, attended an end of summer festival and taken a trip to the circus! There is so much for the babies to see and experience, including songs, lights, messy play, musical instruments, dressing up, and even a massage area. Kimberley is a great leader and the classes have a lovely welcoming atmosphere.”

Jessica Scrivener

Enchanted Rose Therapies

Haverhill

Hi I’m Jessica and I run baby and toddler massage and yoga classes in and around Haverhill.

I originally started out as an aromatherapist over 8 years ago but when my nephews were born 3 years ago I noticed there was a lack of baby services in my area so decided to train to deliver baby massage , yoga and signing classes.

Working within the parent community is a big part of my life and I love meeting new parents,  being part of their littles ones journey and seeing their faces when they enjoy my classes!
I’ve put my own stamp on my classes by adding elements of sensory play and am currently writing my own teaching programme so lots of exciting things to look forward to in the future.
I currently run classes Tuesday- Thursday.

I look forward to meeting you and your little one in the future

Jo Jingles

Ipswich

My name is Katie and I have been running Jo Jingles for just over 2 years. Previously I was a teacher for 10 years but after taking my own children to Jo Jingles classes when the opportunity arose for me to buy the business it was a perfect fit for me; something fun and flexible that would fit around my family!

Jo Jingles is fun and educational music and movement classes for babies from 3 months to children of school age. Classes are age appropriate and use a wide range of instruments and props to develop all areas of children’s development. Baby classes include numerous sensory experiences alongside the music whilst older classes develop listening, memory and social skills in the form of games, story sessions and active music making. Most importantly all of this learning is under the guise of fun!! Jo Jingles currently runs classes in Ipswich, Felixstowe, Westerfield, Kesgrave and Stowupland. There is a special offer of 3 classes for £10 for babies under 6 months. Do get in touch for more information www.jojingles.com/ipswich, ipswichjingles@gmail.com or call 07732 544548.

Jo Rayson

Little Squigglers

West Suffolk

My name is Jo Rayson and I took over the running of Little Squigglers West Suffolk in 2015 and have been having fun ever since. I have two children of my own who thoroughly enjoy the whole process of messy, creative and sensory play.

In the toddler classes there are plenty of opportunities for children to learn through play. Children get to grips with and make sense of the world around them by using all of their senses.  Neuroscience tells us that through multi-sensory experiences a child will acquire knowledge of their world, make links with their experiences and develop a greater awareness of the world around them!

The Little Squigglers motto of “Explore. Create. Enjoy” almost says it all – as far as the children are concerned, it’s a great opportunity to have fun in safety, meet new friends, explore new things and have a good time.

Our activities are carefully planned and designed to ensure that your little one has a range of experiences to support their development in many areas including: Fine Motor Skills, Creative and Sensory exploration through physical play and exploring a wide variety of textures, aromas and mark making media.  Language and Communication skills are enhanced through linking activities with stories and rhymes and valuing the opportunity for uninterrupted time to share their thoughts, ideas and creations with their parent or carer.  The children leave the classes with three wonderful pieces of artwork they have created with their adult and there are always plenty of smiles as I wave goodbye at the end of each class. The other fantastic thing is that the children can make mess, but we clear it all up!

The Nurture Barn

Braintree

I remember when my daughter Olivia started crawling and exploring and I’d spot these ladies in coffee shops strapping their kids into high chairs. With a baby, I still wanted to meet friends with or without kids, for good coffee and healthy food in stylish places, made for us with natural light, wooden toys and outdoor space where they couldn’t run off. I wanted Pay as you Go drop in classes, so I didn’t have to do the same thing every week. It was just impossible and there was nothing. So I decided to create it.

In August 2014 The Nurture Barn opened. Downstairs is the beautiful play area for babies, who have started to crawl and explore, with ride ons and climbing equipment with a strategically placed café area alongside, for those frazzled adults among us. Our 5* rated cafe, for three years running, serves delicious homemade food from weaning purees upwards: daily specials, quiches, salads, soups, pastas, wraps, sandwiches, cakes and very good coffee. Our sausage and bacon is from Priors Hall Farm and our veggy meat is Linda McCartney. We also make sure that there are lots of yummy options on offer for those with intolerances – who are often overlooked and fobbed off with Jacket Potatoes.

Upstairs is a whole floor dedicated to toddlers and pre school kids with a wooden village including shop, kitchen and café, a treehouse, a climbing area and a building section.  Books play an important role upstairs too and there are plenty of fancy dress outfits for those with imagination. The barn is intimate so works well, with multiple kids of different ages. There is also the stunning, star ceiling party room for kids’ parties to hire in 2 hour slots. We do everything, the invites, food and party bags and can even bake a cake if you wish. Barn exclusivity is also available if you want that house party feel!

Weekly Pay as you go £5 Classes, incl take place inside, in our upstairs private room. We run Baby Massage, Musical Sensory and Spanishtastics and Frenchtastics.
We run a weekly Breastfeeding and Babyled Weaning support group as well as information sessions for Fussy Toddlers, Weaning and Antenatal Breastfeeding and First Aid.

Outside are wooden huts, huge tractor tyres, outdoor kitchens and pirate ships, plus in the second garden is a huge wooden house for them to play mums and dads, basically everything I wanted to play with when I was little.  We have regular miniature pony ride sessions and animal petting events.

As well as having fun, we have put an emphasis on ‘play through learning’ to support early learning and improve outcomes for their children (EYFS) – so all toys have been chosen for a reason and wooden.

Jen Gant

Little Squigglers

Ipswich and East Suffolk

Hello, my name is Jen and I run Little Squigglers art, craft and messy play classes in Ipswich and East Suffolk!

Each week in Little Squigglers pre-school classes, children (and parents) have fun being immersed in activities based around familiar themes whilst learning new skills in a safe and secure environment. Messy play for babies or toddlers is not only great fun, but it is a perfect way for your child to learn new skills through sensory play and sensory learning, as well as learning to share, make new friends, develop greater confidence and independence, and increase language and communication skills.

Parents and carers work alongside their child, happy exploring lots of messy things like goo, gloop and gunge, whilst perhaps creating fantastic works of art and, most importantly, enjoying being creative together.

At each class children have the opportunity to create wonderful pieces of art work to take home. These are linked to the theme of the class and are different every week! We know that all children are unique and are individuals in their own right, so our classes allow children to explore and create at their own pace – and it is a great way for your little ones to prepare for nursery / school life as they become confident and familiar with routines such as adult led activities, free-play time and quiet story times.

Yes, it’s a great learning opportunity – quite often for parents and carers as well as the toddlers; but above all it is fun and time to enjoy together with lots of giggles and laughter – and one of the best bits after all this fun activity and messy play? We clear up all the mess!

And it’s not just the toddler classes… We do the most fantastic birthday parties, after school clubs and group sessions. The possibilities are endless!

Before I started running Little Squigglers Ipswich and East Suffolk, I was a Little Squigglers mum myself! I have two young boys, who are both enthusiastic and dedicated ‘Little Squigglers’ themselves. It was seeing how much they enjoyed themselves and developed during the classes that inspired me to start my own Little Squigglers sessions. I am passionate about how much the classes offer children and I can’t wait to share the experience with you!

Sophie Rose

Clubhouse Kids

Elmswell and Stowmarket

Hi I’m Sophie, mum to Reuben and owner of Clubhouse Kids!

Life with small people can be a whirlwind and it’s sometimes a challenge to think of activities to keep these little people busy! That’s where Clubhouse Kids comes in to offer your children a great variety each session. The activities will also give you ideas that you can take home and use again and again!

I started Clubhouse Kids to meet and bring together other parents, to create a flexible working situation to allow me to spend more time with Reuben and do something I can feel passionate about and unleash my creativity! My aim was to bring all my favourite things about attending groups and include them in to themed weeks! I believe in learning through play with messy activities , sensory stimulus, music and arts and crafts. Clubhouse Kids is not part of a franchise so everything you will find here is unique!

Each week follows a different theme, we learn about all kinds of things such as colours, animals, seasons and much more. At the end of each session your child will have earned their themed badge to take home and keep. These collectible badges give our Clubhouse Kids a sense of belonging, a chance to feel proud of their achievements as well as holding great memories!

Clubhouse Kids runs in Elmswell at the Blackbourne on Tuesdays and in Stowmarket at The Mix on Thursdays, term-time, fortnightly. (£6.50 per session). Weekend sessions are also held once a month. (£8.50 for weekend sessions.)
We can also come to you and offer themed activities for birthday parties.

Steph Holland

Nature Explorers

Bury St Edmunds

I am Steph, mummy to Amelia, aged 6, owner of St Edmundsbaby and Nature Explorers. We live in Bury St Edmunds with my husband Neil. We spend most of our time together in forests, parks and gardens and our shared love of being outside has taken us all around the UK to find new places to explore. We are home educating our daughter, and most of our learning takes place in forests. They offer an incredible environment for holistic learning, muscle development, teamwork and a deeper understanding of the natural world around us. We enjoy spending time in the woods both in peaceful solitude, but also with a diverse range of friends and family,  providing opportunities for socialisation, leadership skills, listening and problem solving.

I set up St Edmundsbaby when Amelia was a baby to provide an online information and support hub for local parents. Since then, St Edmundsbaby has developed to host events for families, produce a biannual parenting magazine, and run and help develop support groups. We now hold regular drop in sessions and parenting fayres at the Apex, and a family fun day at West Stow Country Park.

Nature Explorers runs forest school sessions for families and home-educated children within West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village. We offer the opportunity for families to explore outdoors in a friendly, relaxed environment, helping them discover and develop a relationship with the natural world.
