Now that Autumn has well and truly set in and Winter is fast approaching it felt like it was the right time to get a blog up about places to go for Indoor rainy days out.

Those places that become your savour on those days where you all need to escape the house but its a horrid day outside. When the kids are slowly destroying the house and you can feel the energy building up and they need to burn some of it off.

Indoor Swimming Pools

If you are going to get wet getting everyone in the car you may as well go somewhere where you are gpoing to get wet anyway, so lets start with….

Kingfishers – Sudbury

Can’t beat Kingfishers for its town centre location and free parking, they also have ‘wet and wild’ and ‘family funtime’ on Saturday and Sundays between 12-4. During the school holidays they have wet and wild sessions on Mon-Fri as well between 2-4pm.

Mr G’s bowling centre is an 8 lane complex with an 150 seater stylish bar and restaurant.

Soft Play/Indoor Play

Every parent secretly loves and hates a soft play centre in equal quantities. The best part is you may get some time to enjoy a (semi) peaceful cup of coffee, as you sit safe in the knowledge that your little one would have burnt off some of that energy and will either have a good afternoon nap or sleep well at bedtime.

Adventure Island Play park – Lowestoft

This play park has three sections for children of all ages to enjoy.

Pirate Pete’s Pirate Ship Which is set over 3 levels with 2 slides, ball pool, ball lifter, zooopa ball cannons and a secret island with aerial runways. For the under 5’s there is Polly palm’s island that is set over two levels includes 2 slides and includes a massive ball pool with a ball juggler and more.

Then for the under 2’s there is a baby zone, it includes its own slide, ball pool with mini juggler and baby bouncers.

Curve Motion – Bury St Edmunds

Curve motion is the largest soft play area in East Anglia. The main interactive play area is suitable for ages 12 & under. This includes a sports arena, ball cannon battle zone, climbing wall, snake slides and ladders, hang tough and a disco zone.

The under-5 area includes a ball pool, wavy slides and crawl tubes. A separate baby zone provides a safe stimulating area for those not yet walking.

Compete on the four-lane racing slide or, if you’re brave enough, face the six-metre vertical drop slide.

They also have a toddler group on a Thursday from 9.30am.

Oliver Haywood Play Barn – Ipswich

If you are looking for a smaller quieter soft play area, look no further than this place.

The play barn is small and intimate, with up to 15 children allowed at any one time, allowing both the parents and children to feel very relaxed – unlike the experience of being in a giant noisy warehouse!

The play area features all sorts of activities for your children to burn up some energy on, including ball pit, slide and disco room!

For the tiny ones, an enclosed area with play shapes and mirrors will keep them safe and entertained.

Birch Farm Play Barn – Ipswich

This barn has everything all on one level, so perfect for being able to keep an eye on those little ones at all times. There is an area set aside for the little little ones of the family as well as an outside area.

Little Kingfishers – Sudbury

An amazing place to let your little ones blow off some steam and they also sell great coffee! This soft play has 4 levels, slides, rope swings, ball pit and more. There is also a baby sensory area for the little little ones.

CurveMotion operates a variety of sessions dedicated for different age groups and abilities including family-only sessions (Coast); relaxed coffee mornings (Time Out!); general open sessions (SkateLove); Toddler-only skating plus other sessions for after school and evenings. We also have the obligatory Roller Discos!
