Children just love a Christmas lights on event! I think a combination of the crowds, the amazing energy and being a allowed to stay up a little late makes a christmas lights switch on super special for the little ones.

If you know of a lights switch on that we haven’t listed below please get in contact and let us know the details so we can add it in.

Bury St Edmunds
16th November 15.30-19.00

We’ll be offering a packed programme of free street and stage entertainment, festive fundraising stalls and fairground rides. The main attraction of the evening will be the Switch On, featuring a special festive guest at 7pm. Entertainment will then continue until 8pm.

Other highlights of the evening will be the penguins, which will be in a special enclosure on Abbeygate Street as well as a baby reindeer with its mother. There’s a full programme of stage entertainment outside Moyses Hall from 3.15pm. Pantomime characters from The Theatre Royal’s production of Dick Whittington and special guests Elsa and Olaf will also be making an appearance.

On Thursday 16th November, until Christmas, there will be free parking across the town from 4pm. This supports the late-night shopping evenings, every Thursday from 16th November.

Ipswich Big Switch On
16th November 16.45 – 19.00

Get in the Christmas spirit with Ipswich’s big Switch On!

Join us for the Ipswich Christmas Lights Switch On 2017. Get down to the town centre for an evening of entertainment, raucous pantomime antics and Christmas lights… and real snow!

This year’s Switch On will kick off with performances from Aldeburgh Sings and the stars of the Regent Panto (Jack and the Beanstalk). Then the Mayor will switch on the lights at 7:00pm. It just isn’t Christmas without the town centre illuminated!

Arrive early to get the best spot!

Newmarket Christmas lights switch on
Tuesday, November 14, 16.00-21.00

The Newmarket lights will be switched on this year by Eastenders star Scott Maslen. The Mayor of Newmarket, Andy Drummond, will also be there helping switch on the lights.

You can watch three pantomimes, take a ride on the fairground, enjoy late night shopping and lots more.

Framlingham Christmas lights switch on
November 25, 17.00-18.00

Framlingham will be holding a celebration to officially switch on the Christmas lights.

Head down and join in with the singing and traditional celebration.

Clare Christmas lights switch on
December 2

The three-week long Clare Winter Festival starts on Friday, November 24. During these three weeks there will be a Christmas fair, a Christmas market and the Christmas light switch on.

The lights will get switched on Saturday, December 2 and on the same day there will be a Christmas craft fair in the town hall

Come and watch Britain’s got Talent finalist Matt Edwards turn on the towns christmas lights.

Lowestoft Christmas Lights Switch On
Saturday 18th November 2017

The Lowestoft big switch on takes place with highlights including the Lowestoft Players with their Christmas

Spectacular, with the lights being switched on around 5pm.

Southwold Christmas Lights Switch On
Saturday 25th November 2017

Southwold lights switch on is always a lovely evening for all the family with Father Christmas switching on the lights!

Beccles Christmas Lights Switch On
24th November 2017 5:30 – 9:00 pm

Local acts on stage and a variety of stalls and entertainment throughout the town topped off with traditional lights switch on.

Felixstowe Christmas Lights Switch On & Fair
Saturday 2nd December 2017

Get into the festive spirit by joining in the fun at Felixstowe’s Xmas Lights Switch On and Xmas Craft market. Hamilton Road and The Canopy will be filled with lots festive food and craft stalls and there will be carol singing and live entertainment throughout the afternoon.

24th November 17.00-21.00

The evening will be filled with the official Town Light switch on with the Mayor and the Christmas card competition winner, Carols, Santa’s Grotto, Synthetic Ice Skating Rink, Inflatable bouncy Christmas Pudding, various fairground attractions and rides (additional performers and entertainment yet to be arranged), and a wide range of stalls both inside St. Peter’s and outside in North Street and Market Hill.

1st December

Friday will see the Christmas Shopping tradition culminate into a family fun evening with the annual light switch on, followed by fireworks at 8pm. This event regularly attracts between 5,000 – 7,000 people and includes fairground and charity stalls as well as late night shopping in the town.
